The fireplace is a location in a home. One where we gather with friends for warmth, for fellowship, for fun, and to be fed. As we open our Bibles we will also find fire to be a place of intersection where God meets people. Moses heard from God in a burning bush. Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego are met with a fourth man and saved from the fiery furnace. Tongues of fire land on the apostles heads at Pentecost.

In Song of Songs, the flame seals believers as prisoners of love and in Romans we are called to present ourselves to God as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God.

Once more, in a little Indiana town, we will gather and wait at an intersection for God, at the Fireplace.
